Brewery news

Andrew Reeves, executive director of trans-Tasman brewer Lion Nathan Ltd, is set to take the position of managing director at Kirin Holdings Company's Australian dairy business National Foods, Business Spectator posted on September, 25.

According to Lion Nathan, the proposed appointment will be subject to approvals.

"This proposed appointment is subject to formal approval of the board of Kirin Holdings Company and the Federal Court of Australia approving the scheme of arrangement between Lion Nathan and its non-Kirin shareholders," the brewer said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Lion Nathan shareholders approved a A$3.5 billion buy-out deal from the Japanese brewery giant to merge Lion Nathan with the National Foods business.

The new entity Lion Nathan National Foods Pty Ltd will be led by current Lion Nathan chief executive Rob Murray.

Mr Reeves will also relinquish his position as the managing director of Lion Nathan Australia, to be replaced by James Brindley.

Mr Reeves' appointment comes after National Foods current chief executive Ashley Waugh announced his decision to vacate the position at the end of October.
