E-Malt.com News article: Germany: Molson Coors remains Deutsche's top pick in beer industry

Deutsche Bank issued a research note on September 15th considering post-Labor Day performance among the numerous beer companies. After conducting channel checks following the holiday weekend, the firm says that Molson Coors Brewing (NYSE: TAP) is still their 'Top Pick' in the group.

The firm notes that checks indicated that retailers showed increased promotion over the weekend, equating to more favorable pricing for consumers, but also that pricing has been higher, overall, during the summer. Positive volume growth over the Labor Day weekend also bodes well for Molson Coors' Q3 profit. Finally, Deutsche pointed out that import brands, such as Corona, are the weakest segment of the market as consumers are trading-down to significantly lower-priced domestic brands.
