Brewery news

Guinness beer is offering someone the chance to become one of the first ever non-professional astronauts to travel into space as part of it’s celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the lease on St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin, the Publican posted on July, 1.

Other prizes up for grabs include the chance for one winner and two friends to visit the first ever Guinness deep sea bar, built under the ocean near the Lofoten Islands in Norway.

Another will get to have a pint of Guinness with and see a live performance by The Black Eyed Peas at one of their recording sessions for their upcoming world tour.

The prizes are part of a global competition that was launched on July, 1 and will run through to September 24, which Guinness has declared Arthur’s Day in honour of Arthur Guinness who signed the brewery lease.

Celebrations to mark Arthur’s Day will take place in cities from Dublin, New York, Lagos, Yaoundé to Kuala Lumpur and will include performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Estelle, Kasabian and Soul II Soul.

The competition and celebrations form part of a global advertising campaign for the brand.
