E-Malt.com News article: Poland: SABMiller’s subsidiary to have a new head as from June, 1

Kompania Piwowarska, SABMiller’s Polish subsidiary, announced on May, 27 the appointment of Gary Haigh to the post of Managing Director, which he will assume on June 1, 2009.

Gary Haigh will come to Kompania Piwowarska from Great Britain where he previously held the post of Managing Director for Imports in SABMiller Europe.

Simultaneously, the Board of SABMiller plc announced the appointment of Dieter Schulze, current CEO of Kompania Piwowarska, to the post of the group's Managing Director for global purchases for SABMiller plc. His branch will be responsible for the majority of direct and indirect purchases for the whole group.

Dieter Schulze has managed Kompania Piwowarska since mid-2007; during his tenure the sales of KP grew by ca. 17% (reaching the level of 15.1 mln hl), while the market share of the company increased from 38% to 42.9%.

Previously, for a period of over four years, Schulze served as managing director in the Ursus Breweries in Romania, after a year in the capacity of CFO with the Kompania Piwowarska in Poland.

Kompania Piwowarska (KP) is the biggest brewing enterprise in Poland and a part of one of the biggest manufacturers of beer in the world - SABMiller plc. The volume of sales by KP reached 15.1 mln hl of beer in the financial year concluded on March 31, 2009. The company offers, among others, the following brands: TYSKIE (the favorite beer of Poles), ŻUBR (number two in volume sold in Poland), Lech, Dębowe Mocne, Redd's, Wojak, as well as international premium brands like Pilsner Urquell, Miller Genuine Draft and Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
