| E-Malt.com News article: United Kingdom: Coors Brewers to invest £20 mln to double its share of the beer market in Scotland
Coors Brewers is launching a multi-million-pound push to double its share of the beer market in Scotland, The Herald communicated on February, 21.
The brewery hopes to defy predictions that the recession will accelerate the decline in the beer market with a £20 mln statement of faith in Scottish consumers.
The company aims to grow its share of the beer sold in pubs and shops in Scotland from around 7% currently to 15% over three years.
While some sector watchers warn hundreds of pubs will fall victim to the consequences of the smoking ban and changing fashions, a company representative said bars would be a key focus.
Coors will also mount a national marketing campaign to boost awareness of its brands, it is reported.
