E-Malt.com News article: UK: Whitstable Bay Premium Ale makes its annual appearance as a seasonal guest beer
Brewery news

The light, fresh flavour of the Kent seaside is back in the pubs in the first week of June as cask-conditioned Whitstable Bay Premium Ale makes its annual appearance as a seasonal guest beer until mid-September, Shepherd Neame published in a press release, May 21.

The 4.1% abv beer, from speciality brewer Shepherd Neame, is named after the Kent coastal town, famed for its oysters, and makes a great partner for seafood.

It is a light, refreshing ale made from 100% natural ingredients from Kent, including chalk-filtered mineral water, East Kent Goldings hops and winter pearl malting barley.

Sunset-gold in colour, Whitstable Bay combines delicate hints of fresh hops with the softer, buttery richness of pale and crystal organic malts.

Shepherd Neame's sales and marketing director, Graeme Craig, said: "Whitstable Bay is a light, refreshing beer which is delightful on is own or paired with summer dishes such as Whitstable oysters, potted shrimps, or traditional fish and chips.

"Served in attractive, modern, stemmed glassware, it's proving to be a popular 'entry-level' drink for those discovering the more complex natural flavours of real ale for the first time."

Whitstable Bay will be available on draught in selected Shepherd Neame pubs and free trade pubs and bars nationwide until mid-September. It is available in 500ml bottles throughout the year at leading supermarkets and off-licences.
