Bulgaria based brewer, Zagorka, mainly owned by Brewinvest, has posted 16% rise of its net profit for 2002 versus 2001 reaching the value of BL4.6 million (EUR 2.37 million). The company has posted gross revenues for 2002 of BL84.8 million (EUR43.6 million), up 7% against last year. Sales in volume terms rose by 2.3% to about 1.03 million hl.

Zagorka is based in Stara Zagora in central Bulgaria. Its main owner, Brewinvest, is a joint venture between the Greek drinks group, Hellenic Bottling, and the Dutch brewing combine, Heineken. Brewinvest, together with its other Bulgarian brewer, Ariana, controls around 26% of the Bulgarian beer market.
