The management and the union of daily-paid employees of San Miguel Bacolod Brewery formally signed their new Collective Bargaining Agreement last September 21, 2007, SunStar reported October 4.

The new CBA covers a period of three years and includes, among others, a new economic package with provisions for lump sum and wage increases, a multi-purpose loan package, group personal accident and term life insurances, death benefit, burial expense assistance, rice ration and a health plan for dependents. The CBA stands to benefit 70 members and their families.

Among the guests who witnessed the formal signing were Department of Labor and Employment's Mediator-Arbiter Atty. Dax Villaruel and Labor Enforcing Officer Bayani Braza and National Conciliation and Mediation Board's Conciliator-Mediator Joseph Llanto. Also present were San Miguel's Corporate HR Manager Enrico Reyes, Office of the Legal Counsel Atty. Conchita Jamora, Labor Relations Manager Paul Ballesteros and Union Legal Counsel Gemeno Ymballa.
