Brewery news

East African Breweries has penetrated the Rwandan market as part of its regional expansion plan, a statement has disclosed, according to All Africa, April 9.

"This is a boost to our economy. Our people will have more options in terms of brands and employment and the government will benefit from taxes.

"We are encouraged by the confidence that EABL has in Rwanda and we will in turn continue to nurture a good business relationship with them," Rwanda's finance and economic planning state minister Monique Nzanzabagamwa said.

EABL's group managing director, Gerald Mahinda, said: "The country in the heart of the Great Lakes region is an immense opportunity for EABL. We will continue to provide award-winning brands."
