The National Basketball Association (NBA) has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis Business Journal published January 12.

Anheuser-Busch has been a league partner since 1998 and has 25 team deals. Terms of the multiyear renewal were not disclosed, but it does not include rights to the WNBA, USA Basketball, or the NBA Development League. A-B was a WNBA sponsor from the league's inception in 1991 through 2005 and sponsored USA Basketball from 1997-2000.

Budweiser will continue to be the league's official beer in China and Mexico. In addition, the NBA will provide content to A-B's newly launched Bud.TV online digital network. A-B will also introduce four promotions in select NBA markets under their Bud Light brand.

"Anheuser-Busch is doing a ton of local activations," said Mark Tatum, senior vice president of marketing partnerships for the NBA. "They have national activations around our big events and they are taking it very local with their 25 team deals."

St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc, the largest domestic brewer, manufactures and recycles aluminum cans and operates theme parks.
