Jamie Tomlinson, formerly Finance Director at Lion Nathan Australia has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, with effect from 1 May 2003, Lion Nathan Company reported in a statement on April 7, 2003.

“Paul Lockey who is currently Chief Financial Officer said he and his family intend to return to New Zealand following the forthcoming announcement of the company's half year results on 15 May. Paul led the smooth transition of Lion Nathan's Head Office from Auckland to Sydney in July 2000 and, as part of this process, agreed to extend his contract for another three years,” the company said.

Lion Nathan CEO, Gordon Cairns, said the company completed an exhaustive selection process included benchmarking Mr Tomlinson against some very strong external candidates. "Before this appointment, Jamie has held several key roles in Lion Nathan which have prepared him well for the tasks ahead.”

During his tenure as CFO, NPAT and Total Shareholder Return (TSR) have grown at double-digit compound growth rates. Importantly, Paul has created a very strong financial team at Lion Nathan, reflected in the appointment of an internal candidate to fill the CFO position. "We thank Paul for his contribution and wish him well in his pursuits when he returns to New Zealand."
