In Russia 324 big and medium enterprises of different patterns of ownership and over 500, if including the microbreweries, produce beer, beer-union reported. In 2002 Russia produced about 70.25 million hl of beer. However, the lack of development of raw materials’ source is still restraining the growth of brewing branch. The brewers face the shortage of malt and hop. Russian brewers are supplied only 30% with national malt and 10% with national hop.
