Russia, Moscow: Russia's State Duma on April 1 passed in the first reading a bill imposing fines equivalent to the minimum monthly wage (100 rubles today) for the consumption in public places of beer and other beverages with an alcohol content of more than 12%, according to Interfax. The law comes into force from April 9 2005.
