USA: Granite City Food & Brewery, the St. Louis Park-based company ,posted a net loss of $314,916, or 4 cents per diluted share, in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 28. That compares to a net loss of $944,176, or 23 cents per share, in the previous fourth quarter, Biz Journal posted on March 21. The company operates eight Granite City Food & Brewery casual dining restaurants.

Granite City reported revenue rose 71 percent to $8.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2004 from $4.7 million in the same period the year before.

For the year, the company posted a net loss of $1.3 million, or 25 cents per diluted share in 2004. That compares to a net loss of $2.2 million, or 56 cents per share, the year before. Revenue was $30.8 million in 2004, a 117 percent jump from $14.2 million the previous year.

Granite City shares closed down 6 cents, or 1.4 percent, at $4.13 on Thursday.
