Brewery news

A new state-of-the-art pilot brewery at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park will host a grand opening April 14, GMToday.com reported on April 7.

The event will begin at 5 p.m., is open to the public and free of charge. The WBC Park is the home of the Lake Country Dock-Hounds baseball team.

"We are excited to announce the Grand Opening of the new Lake Louie DockHaus," WBC President Paul Verdu said. "We will be trying some beers, sampling some food from the new onsite chefs and giving quick brewery tours."

The event will also host a live acoustic performance by 2018 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Country Group of the Year Bella Cain at 8 p.m. In addition there will be a ribbon cutting and tapping of the first keg at 6 p.m.

"It has been a long time coming and the brewing teams has spent the past couple of months making sure everything is ready to go," Verdu said. "The trial runs have been fantastic, and we cannot wait to unveil this gem to Wisconsin beer lovers."

Verdu said the DockHounds staff has been working with the Verona brewery to provide a "robust brewing calendar" that will be tied into the team’s promotional calendar. One example of this is that for opening weekend May 12-14 they are brewing a beer that will be aged with baseball bats.

"We are honored to showcase The DockHaus with our valued partner," DockHounds Managing Partner Sonny Bando said. "Seeing their vision come to life has been extremely rewarding."

Bando said the new brewery will be a huge plus for Lake Country residents.

"For the Lake Country community to have the opportunity to enjoy a freshly crafted beverage while watching a Dock-Hounds game completely elevates the fan experience on game days and will be a game changer throughout the year."

DockHounds Marketing and Communications Manager Bryan Giese said the team is proud to be one of three baseball stadiums in Wisconsin that have a microbrewery. The others are American Family Field in Milwaukee and a Northwoods league teams’ facility in Hudson.

Installation of the five-barrel brewery began in late 2022 and Verdu said the primary focus of the business will be to innovate new beers that will make their way into the WBC taproom in Verona, at the ballpark and eventually into market.

The Baird Wealth Management Club at WBC Park will continue to operate all year long as an event space on non-game days, hosting private and public events, fundraisers and more.

"The combination of our new brewery, the amazing chefs from Butter than the Rest Catering that operates the on-site kitchen, the location right off I-95 and the flexibility of the space itself make this the premier event venue in all of Lake Country," Verdu said.

The Wisconsin Brewing Company was formed in 2013 and joined forces with Lake Louie Brewing in 2019.
