Chilean brewer Austral has plans to begin exports to Europe and the USA in the second half of 2003. Now the company is realising its exports to Argentina, but they are uneconomical. General Manager John Kimber said the company is currently making contact with potential distributors in Europe and the USA. The company’s share of Chile’s premium beer market has risen from 1-2% in 2001 to 15% at present.
