A new brewery on Vancouver Island came in just under the wire to be the final brewery opening of 2019 in British Columbia, the Canadian Beer News reported on January 2.

Dog Mountain Brewing opened the doors to its taproom in downtown Port Alberni on December 28th, with three beers on offer from owner and brewer Robin Miles – including Lit Wit (5.5% abv), Mad Mike’s Recession Proof IPA (7.1% abv), and White IPA (4.7% abv) – as well as a selection of guest taps from other B.C. breweries. A limited food menu is also available, with more options to be added soon.

Dog Mountain Brewing is located at 3141 3rd Ave. in Port Alberni, and is open from 11:00 AM daily, until 9:00 PM on Sunday to Wednesday, 10:00 PM on Thursday, and 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
