E-Malt.com News article: USA, KY: Brew Bridge Brewery to become Owensboro’s first official brewery by February
Brewery news

Owensboro’s first official brewery no longer remains nameless. Escape Today owners David Haynes and Max Garvin have settled on Brew Bridge as the namesake for their new business venture, The Owensboro Times reported on November 18.

“It’s one of the most difficult things we’ve had to do so far,” Haynes said. “A lot of names are already taken that would have been good options, but we feel like we have landed on a name that is catchy and also represents our community well.”

Haynes and Garvin were quick to explain the distinction between a bar and a brewery, as the duo looks forward to the opening of their establishment in February.

“When we first announced that we were going to be opening a brewery, there was a little bit of confusion as to why we were doing it,” Haynes said. “A lot of people in Owensboro felt like there was no need for another bar in town, which we actually agree with. Brew Bridge is going to be a place for people who enjoy trying locally-brewed craft beers. The beer we will be selling is going to be brewed on-site, which customers will be able to view from the bar.”

With several different tanks and fermenters, Brew Bridge will be able to feature up to ten different types of craft beer at a time. Each beer will be brewed in batches of 250 pints, giving the brewery a chance to try unique styles at a relatively low financial risk.

“The goal is to have several adventurous craft selections on rotation while maintaining a few staples that will keep customers coming back,” Garvin said.

Brew Bridge has recently added a key asset to their team in Will Johnson, who will serve as the team’s brewmaster. Garvin was complimentary of his new co-worker.

“Will is extremely knowledgeable, and he has already made a large number of batches which have been really high in quality,” Garvin said. “He is also well-connected in the brewery world, with experience brewing at several regional breweries.”
