E-Malt.com News article: USA, NY: Humble Harvest Brewing shutting down after less than a year of business
Brewery news

Humble Harvest Brewing, a popular Madison County brewery located at the Four Corners in Nelson, is shutting down after less than a year of business, the Eagle News Online reported on March 12.

In a Facebook post, Humble Harvest owner Jim Corey thanked loyal customers and said family obligations and a full-time day job led to the closing of his nanobrewery.

“Any of you who got the chance to visit Humble Harvest Brewing or know us personally know that I am a family man,” said Corey in the post published on March 9. “Our jobs are what we do to provide for those we love and our passions are who we are. When we work hard and dream a little, we sometimes get to do both.”

This is the second “nano,” or small, brewery in Madison County to close in the past year, with Henneberg Brewing Co., located off Route 13 south of Cazenovia, closing last October.

While their tap room has been closed for the season since December, Corey has already turned in his brewery tap room license as of March 12. The brewery will be selling merchandise online though the rest of the year as Corey prepares to move the brewhouse into storage and leave Nelson.

“I dreamed of a little place that local friends and visitors from all over, could come and enjoy a local craft beer that I could provide after years of a brewing passion. You proved to us this past year that all that is possible” said Corey. “We truly were humbled by the amazing people we shared a pint with and looked forward to every visit. In and out of the brewery.”
