E-Malt.com News article: Canada, ON: “Open source” Halo Brewery launched in Toronto
Brewery news

Six months after its location and other details were announced, Canada’s first “open source” brewery has opened in Toronto’s Junction Triangle neighbourhood, Canadian Beer News reported.

Co-founded by long-time homebrewers Eric Portelance and Callum Hay, Halo Brewery will be releasing the recipes for all of its beers via its website for other brewers to view and use and they see fit.

Located at 247 Wallace Ave., Halo opened to the public on May 17 with an initial line-up of four beers available: Ion Cannon, a Gose with strawberry and kiwi; Half-Truth, a session IPA; The Final Straw, a tart Wit with strawberry and rosehips; and Magic Missile, a dry hopped pale ale.

All beers are available in the taproom in 12 oz. glasses and 5 oz. samples, and in 500 ml and 1 litre bottles in the retail store. Operating hours are currently 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesdays to Fridays, and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as this coming Holiday Monday.
