E-Malt.com News article: USA, WA: Pacific Brewing announces plans to acquire American Brewing
Brewery news

Tacoma's Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. just announced a deal to acquire Edmonds-based American Brewing Company.

A blog post from Pacific Brewing announces the pending deal, and shares some of the possibilities they see in the merger, both in terms of efficiencies and reach, and creative beer potential.

“We have been working towards expanding our brewing operations and our goal has always been to invest in a production brewery,” explains PB&M co-owner Steve Navarro. “This deal gives us the opportunity to increase our production capacity in the near term and bring our beers to a more diverse and widespread market.”

Both breweries and tap rooms will be staying put, and the leaders of both are enthusiastically positive about the future.

Neil Fallon, CEO of American Brewing Company, says the brewery will be in good hands.

“We built this brewery from the ground up, and appreciate that it will continue to be operated by another local craft brewery that shares our values in producing award winning craft beers. “

Navarro, who just celebrated the first anniversary of Pacific Brewing puts it succinctly: “This is going to be a lot of fun.”
