E-Malt.com News article: USA, WA: Rooftop Brewing Company to reopen in Seattle on August 13
Brewery news

Rooftop Brewing Company originally opened in the summer of 2013 on the northern slope of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. Then, discovering an almost immediate need for expansion, the brewery closed in September of 2014. On August 13 Rooftop Brewing Company reopens for business with a bigger brewhouse and a new location, seattlepi.com reported on August 11.

Rooftop Brewing is located near the Ballard Bridge at 1220 W. Nickerson Street, Seattle.

“We’re thrilled to remain in the neighbourhood, continuing to serve this amazing community that has been so gracious in its support,” says Craig Christian, the owner, manager and brewer at Rooftop Brewing. “The idea of ‘place’ has always meant a great deal to us. We tapped into something special with our little garage and we learned a lot about the brewery we wanted to be, but it was definitely time to move on. To become an even bigger part of this community – and to finally have an actual rooftop deck – it’s all very exciting.”

The new location is in a building it shares with Caffe Ladro and Zoka Coffee roasteries. The tasting room will offer ten rotating taps. The rooftop deck at Rooftop Brewing overlooks Ballard Ship Canal. For cyclist, access is easy. It’s near the South Ship Canal Trail.

To support the expansion, Rooftop Brewing hired an additional full-time brewer. Kyle Feldman most recently worked as head brewer at Barley’s Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio.

“Kyle is the perfect fit for Rooftop Brewing,” said Craig Christian. “He’s an amazing and meticulous brewer, a real craftsman, and he has roots in our neighbourhood. We’re also excited to add his cask and barrel-aging expertise to our repertoire.”
