E-Malt.com News article: Canada, BC: British Columbia’s brewing industry joined by Old Abbey Ales in Abbotsford
Brewery news

The spate of new brewery openings in British Columbia continues to show no signs of slowing down, with another new entrant into the market now in operation in Abbotsford, Canadian Beer News reported on March 12.

Old Abbey Ales was founded by brewing equipment importer and marketer Don Piccolo in partnership with NorthAm Finance, with veteran brewmaster Tony Dewald on staff to handle the development and production of the brewery’s beers.

Open to the public since late last week, Old Abbey is currently offering a selection of beers on tap and in growlers including Blonde Ale, IPA, Rye Pale Ale, Belgian Dark Strong and Belgian Single. The launch of the brewery’s core line-up of bottle-conditioned Belgian-style ales – including Belgian Tripel, Belgian Quad and Belgian IPA – will be following soon.
