The Dutch brewer Heineken is possibly interested in acquiring a stake in the Mexican brewer Femsa Cerveza, Rene Hooft Graafland, Member of the Executive Board of the company, said in a briefing with journalists. Though he added that acquisitions in Europe were unlikely.

Heineken is still expecting a lower profit than last year, according to Rene Hooft Graafland, as it feels the effects of currency fluctuations. Negative currency effects are expected to outweigh organic growth and contributions from acquisitions at the international brewer, resulting in a lower net result. However, in a briefing with journalists, Graafland said he still expected close to 5% growth for the business in the US import segment.
