E-Malt.com News article: USA, TN: Memphis Made Brewing Co. to double production capacity
Brewery news

Memphis Made Brewing Co. is expanding its production capability, Memphis Business Journal reported on July 24.

The local brewery is adding three new fermenters, doubling its beer production capabilities. Since launching in 2013, Memphis Made has released several different brands, including Southern Julep, Reverberation, Fruit Ninja and its latest pale ale, Bear Cat. Earlier this year, Memphis Made released its first bottled beers, which are available at the Madison Growler and Bottle Shop, located inside the Cash Saver at 1620 Madison Ave. and Whole Foods Market.

According to a company statement, the bottled beers have contributed to the company’s expansion. Memphis Made will also take advantage of laws allowing low gravity beer to be sold in liquor stores.

“The changes in the law have opened up a lot of new offerings for us, including the Memphis Made beers. Our customers really like a good variety of beers, especially the local ones, and it’s been good to be able to offer these,” Jeff Howell, co-owner of Yorkshire Liquors, which carries Memphis Made, said.

The company currently distributes beer to more than 60 bars, restaurants, grocery stores and liquor stores in Shelby County.

“We’re following our growth plan, although this expansion has come a little sooner than we thought,” Andy Ashby, co-founder of Memphis Made, said. “The demand for more local beer has been great and we’re working as hard as we can to fill it.”
