E-Malt.com News article: USA, PA: Roundabout Brewery granted a brewpub license
Brewery news

Steve Sloan, who is opening Roundabout Brewery on Butler Street in Lawrenceville, is ready to serve up his beers by the pint, Pittsburgh Business Times reported on May 20.

After launching his Roundabout Brewing Co. on Butler Street last year by selling his beers in growlers last year, Sloan and his wife Dyana recently were granted a brewpub license, allowing the brewery to sell its beers by the glass.

"We're excited about the next step here," said Sloan, who opened Roundabout last summer.

As part of the expansion, Roundabout has also added a new fermenter that will help increase the amount of beer it can make by 50 percent. Sloan said the new licensing and the added equipment gives him greater flexibility of what to make and serve.

He's also added two more taps, growing the number of beers he can sell at any one time from five to seven.

Sloan, a former brewer of the year at the Great American Beer Festival, expects some beers will be better to serve by the glass than the growler.
