E-Malt.com News article: Angola & Sao Tome and Principe: Cuca beer starting shipments to Sao Tome and Principe
Brewery news

The first two containers of cans of Cuca beer, produced at the Sociedade de Bebidas de Angola factory in Catumbela, in Angola’s Benguela province, are due to be shipped in the next two weeks to Sao Tome and Principe, the outgoing factory director, Stephanno Cossito was quoted as saying by Macauhub on May 12.

During the inauguration of the factory’s new beer filling line, Cossito said that the two containers shipped from Angola on or around 15 May were the “first adventure” in the process of internationalisation of the Cuca brand.

The director of the factory, who is due to stand down from his position, noted that an investment of US$33 million by French group Castel in the factory was allowing it to increase production by around 60 percent and improve the quality of the product.

“With this new line the factory has an installed capacity of 77 million litres of beer per year and is able to respond to current and future needs of the region of Benguela and its neighbouring provinces,” he said.
