Brewery news

Boulevard Brewing Co. is expanding its I.P.A. offerings with a new year-round addition to the core line, The Kansas City Star reported on July, 22.

Pop-Up I.P.A. is now available on tap at some restaurants and bars in Kansas and will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles in the coming weeks.

In a statement, John McDonald, founder and president of Boulevard, said he has been challenging the company’s brewers to experiment with full-flavoured, lower alcohol beers for quite some time.

The newest Boulevard “session” beer measures in at 4.2 percent ABV (alcohol by volume). Session beers are typically brews under 5 percent ABV and come in a variety of styles.

Boulevard is also experimenting with other session beers that could be released soon.
