E-Malt.com News article: USA, AL: Cheaha Brewing Company to open in Anniston in April
Brewery news

The owners of a planned brew pub in downtown Anniston hope to open their restaurant by the first of April and will be brewing their own beer by May, al.com reported on March, 5.

Cheaha Brewing Company is aiming for a soft opening within a few weeks at its location in Anniston. Owner Rodney Snider said he just recently ordered his brewing equipment.

"It'll take a couple of weeks to install, and then a couple of weeks filling the pipeline," Snider said.

The idea of opening a brew pub is something Snider and his friend Rick Okins talked about for at least five years, Snider said. But with the proliferation of craft beers in Alabama since 2009, it seemed like an idea whose time had come.

"It looked like a good opportunity," Snider said. "There's demand for it, and since last April, we've been looking for potential sites."

Snider said once the brewery is running, he believes the bar will typically offer about eight beers on tap - some standards, and other taps to showcase different styles.
