Philippe Vasseur, France’s ex-Minister of Agriculture, has been elected as new President of the French Brewers Association, Doc News reported on December, 17.

He will succeed Gerard Laloi as from January, 1.

This year has been difficult for French brewers, as, despite protests, the government approved a 160% hike in beer taxes.

French Brewers Association unites 108 brewers. The total number of brewing companies in France is estimated at around 450.
