E-Malt.com News article: USA, CA: Firestone Walker Brewing to release Double DBA
Brewery news

California-based Firestone Walker Brewing is to add Double DBA to its Proprietor Reserve family of vintage barrel-aged beers, The Drinks Business Review reported on July, 16.

Double DBA is a 12% ABV limited edition imperial special bitter ale that is fully aged for one year in new American oak barrels and old bourbon barrels.

Bottled without filtration, Double DBA will be released at the brewery's three hospitality centers - Visitor Center at the brewery in Paso Robles, the Taproom restaurant in Paso Robles and the Taproom restaurant in Buellton.

With only 3,500 cases produced, the 22oz bottles of Double DBA will be introduced in select markets across the US at suggested retail price of $15.99 per bottle.

Firestone Walker Brewing co-proprietor David Walker told the website that the brewery initially used oak barrels to ferment Double Barrel Ale.

"Double DBA brings us full circle as our first release that is both fermented and aged in barrels," Walker added.

Double DBA joins Parabola and Sucaba as the latest addition to Firestone Walker's Proprietor Reserve family of vintage barrel-aged beers, which will be added with seventh edition later in 2012.
