SABMiller India on July, 11 said it has launched a new drink with spicy taste under the label of Indus Pride.

"The Indus Pride is the first beer with Indian spices and is initially available in four variants - Citrusy, Coriander, Citrusy Cardamom, Spicy Fennel and Fiery Cinnamon," the domestic arm of SABMiller Plc said in a statement.

The product is priced at Rs 85 for a 330 ml bottle and is a premium offering focused on the metros. It will be rolled out in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Bangalore.

"We see a huge opportunity here as the beer intake is on a rise with the legal drinking age consumers more open to experimentation today. With the changing lifestyle and rise in disposable income, more people are looking for innovative and interesting products in every segment including beer," SABMiller India marketing director Derek Jones said.

The company's other brands include Haywards, KnockOut, Royal Challenge, Foster's, Miller High Life and Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
