E-Malt.com News article: USA, MO: Anchor brewery temporarily stops beer shipments
Brewery news

None of Anchor brewery brands have come into Missouri state since June, reported Stltoday.com on August, 29.

The reason is that Anchor brewery changed hands last year, being acquired by The Griffin Group, "an investment and consulting company focused on beverage alcohol brands." Griffin Group principals Keith Greggor and Tony Foglio announced the parent company's name as Anchor Brewers & Distillers. The switch forced Anchor to renew its licenses in Missouri, resulting in "a temporary halt to our shipments to the market," says Terry Miniken, the brewery's representative in Missouri.

"This is a short-term issue only and we will be shipping to the market again as soon as this paperwork is completed," Miniken says. "We are working to have this rectified as quickly as possible."

Here's hoping the situation gets worked out by late October, when Anchor releases its wonderful Our Special Ale, a spiced brew that's been around since 1975 and is a perfect accompaniment to any Thanksgiving meal.
