The Dutch brewer, Grolsch, announced on October 31 that it is axing production of its Zinniz youth brand after only two years, according to Reuters’ report. The beer, half-way between lager and lemonade, was launched in an attempt to satisfy demand for sweeter beer. The company now feels that this demand no longer exists. The brewer now only makes Grolsch beer, and will soon move production to its new brewery in the town of Enschede, near the German border.

Company spokesman Coen Thoenissen, speaking to Reuters, said that costs involved with the decision would be small, as Zinnis stocks had already been brought down to a minimum as the decision was pending.
