The Belgian brewing force Interbrew, which announced on September 18 it was to acquire the German brewer Spaten, has noticed that it may be interested in further acquisitions in the country, German press reported on September 19. Company’s CEO John Brock said the company would consider opportunities that fitted its strategic goals, one of those opportunities will not be Brau und Brunnen. Brock said Brau und Brunnen would not fit with its business, despite the fact that the German bank HVB Group is looking to sell its 56% stake in Brau und Brunnen by the end of the year.
