The USA Ministry of Agriculture has downgraded its forecast for the total yield of grains in Germany with 2.5 million tonnes to 39 million tonnes, according to ODJ. The drought had a great influence on all cereals. The quality of malting barley was damaged too and it is expected to have a high level of proteins. It is forecasted German breweries will have to import a part of malting barley.
