Plzensky Prazdroj, the largest Czech brewer, has reported a 5% growth in sales for the first six month of 2003 against the same period last year. In June 2003 sales were up 15% versus June 2002, the company said. The company is expecting a 5% sales increase for the full year, said Alexej Bechtin, Prazdroj's spokesman. The fastest growing brand was Velkopopovicky Kozel, followed by Pilsner Urquell and Gambrinus.
