E-Malt.com News article: USA: Heineken opens demand point in Savannah
Brewery news

A new name will now be synonymous with Savannah-Chatham County: Heineken beer.

Just off the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway, the new demand point center for the brew company will distribute more than 7 million cases annually to distributors in six Southeast states, WTOC reported February 5.

This new location is one of six across the country, and will become the leader for the Southeast US.

Local leaders celebrated with a ribbon cutting and tour this morning.

"It means a lot of jobs for Savannah and you can see we got a lot of good beer that's going to be distributed out of here, which could lead to further expansion," said Alderman Tony Thomas of Savannah's sixth district.

"We've had a long relationship with Heineken USA," said Kevin Brady of Satellite Logistics, the company which will handle the transportation. "This is the next step in our business relationship together. Savannah's been a great city in welcoming us here."
Heineken predicts this will be the second-fastest-growing region for Heineken USA over the next five years.
