The European beer market is continuing to grow under the Datamonitor research. In 2002, the European beer market was worth $131 billion, up from $118 billion in 1997. Although relatively modest, the rate of growth is set to remain positive through the forecast period to 2007, with the market reaching a value of $143 billion. The market leaders in Europe by a clear margin in value terms are the UK and Germany.
