E-Malt.com News article: New Zeeland: Tui Brewery offering big boys playground
Brewery news

DB Breweries is spending $½ million at the Tui Brewery in Mangatainoka on a playground for big boys, Times-Age published September 21.

The removal of the old brewery around the iconic Tui Tower will be the final part of a $500,000 development of the site that is to include the building of Tui HQ, a cafe and Histui museum, DB Breweries commercial manager Nick Rogers said.

"The site where the 4500sqm of old brewery stood will be developed into a park-like surrounding, with the focus on the Tui Tower," he said.

"We want to restore the tower to allow this national icon to stand unimpeded, as implied in the Tui advertising.

Mr Rogers said the upgraded facility at Tui would allow the more than 27,000 annual visitors to the northern Wairarapa brewery "to have a true Tui experience onsite".
"We are creating the ultimate boys' playground in Mangatainoka," he said.

The demolition company is going to take three weeks to clear the site, he said, after which "we get to reveal the full tower in all its glory".
