E-Malt.com News article: Norway: The country proposes alcohol tax increase and this may lead to the death of brewing industry
Brewery news

The Surtax-committee presents its proposals on June 29th, including the scrapping of tax-free sales of alcohol at airports and on ferries to the continent, as per Berry Bros & Rudd news.

As expected, the brewery-industry is strongly opposed to increased taxes on alcohol.

Lars Midtgaard, the CEO of Hansa Borg Breweries, noted that a tax increase would lead to increased cross-border trade and the death of Norway's brewery industry.
