E-Malt.com News article: USA, KS: Stockyards Brewing Co. to open new Overland Park location by the end of January
Brewery news

West Bottoms’ Stockyards Brewing Co. began planning to enter the Johnson County market in 2020. On Thursday, January 22 Stockyards released an opening date for its 10310 Mastin St. spot in Overland Park, The Kansas City Star reported.

The new brewery will open Jan. 30, according to a news release.

Husband and wife duo Greg Bland and Meg Moore will bring the cowboy-style brewery into a space formerly home to grocery co-op AGI (and Piggly Wiggly before that).

“From musicians to regulars to staff to the collaborative KC beer industry, Stockyards is lucky to have become the best of all the people who make it what it is,” Greg Bland, aka the “Trail Boss,” said in a press release.

“We don’t get to keep doing this without people far beyond us supporting it.”

The company said in its statement that Stockyards is committed to serving the public at a time when many small businesses and breweries are struggling.

The new space features a main taproom and a second family-style room, with another bookable area that has couch seating. Outside food is welcome.

“Plenty of conversations mused if the new location was still opening after initial development began in 2020 and slowed, but behind the scenes there was always movement,” reads the release.

The couple opened their original spot 10 years ago at 1600 Genessee St., Suite 100. The new spot’s hours will be 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 1 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 to 8 p.m. Sundays. It is closed Mondays.
