E-Malt.com News article: UK: Grolsch premium wheat beer launched in Asda

Asda will be the first major UK retailer to take on Grolsch Premium Weizen wheat beer from 13 May, Talkingretail reported April 28.

The retailer will have the brand on an exclusive basis to begin with, but it will eventually become available to other retailers.

The beer is produced in Holland using 60% malted wheat and 40% barley malt. The Grolsch wheat beer is said to be “slightly fuller-bodied” than Belgian styles and “more elegant” than German wheat beers.

Grolsch Premium Weizen is packaged in 500ml bottles and will retail at £1.98 in Asda.
