E-Malt.com News article: Bulgaria: Brewery “Boliarka” to launch Weiss Beer
Brewery news

Bulgarian brewery "Boliarka" will be the first to launch the Weiss Beer on the Bulgarian beer market, Jantra Dnes reported October 18.

This type of beer is popular for its sweet taste and fruit frangrances, often bitter than the light beer. It differs from the ordinary lager beer in that it contains wheat malt and is reacher in proteins. That is why it gives more energy when consumed.

According to the executive officer of "Boliarka" Anton Nenov, the production of the beer will be a joint venture between the Bulgarian brewery and the Beverage Institute in Berlin.

This year the company invested about 5 Mill. Euro in new equipment and high technologies. An investment reaching 1 Mill. Euro was made in a unique refrigerator compartment.

The annual output of "Boliarka" reaches 800 hectoliters of beer which ranks among the top 5 beer producers in Bulgaria, currently occupying the 4th position. From the beginning of 2007 the company is exporting to Romania. The total amount of the exports accounts 6% of the gross output.

"We are planning to list shares on the Stock exchange", said Nenov.
