Mexican brewer, Grupo Modelo, has registered MXN9.60 billion sales in the second quarter of year 2002, which is 5.4% up from the corresponding period of previous year. The second quarter noticed an increase of 5.6% in produced volumes year-to-year up to 11.1 million hl.

In the first half of year 2002, Modelo registered MXN17.64 billion sales, a rose by 6.5%. Net Profit for the first six months rose by 20.21% up to MXN2.32 billion, while operating profit increased by 10.23% up to MXN4.85 billion.
