According to the latest analysis of the Union of Brewers in Bulgaria, Carlsberg brewery was increasing its market share, Sofia Echo published August 14.

At the same time, other companies like Kamenitsa and Zagorka were stepping down from their previously dominant position, the survey shows. Carlsberg produces several brands among which Shoumensko, Pirinsko and Tuborg.

The report registers a 24 per cent increase in Carlsberg sales for the first months of 2006, compared to sales for the same period last year. Overall beer consumption went up by 11 per cent. Kamenitsa and Zagorka experienced a five to six per cent increase in sales.

Carlsberg's increased sales grant the company a 23.22 per cent market share in Bulgaria, the report said.
