The Czech brewer, Budejovicky Budvar, has decided to appeal the recent verdict in Sweden in the legal battle with arch-rival Anheuser-Busch, which basically ended in a tie.

The Stockholm court ruled that Budvar could not use the 'Budweiser' and 'Budweis' but threw out Anheuser-Buschs demand that Budvar be forbidden to use the 'Budvar' and 'Budbräu' brands as well. Moreover, both parties were ordered to share the costs for the process. Budvar has declared itself unhappy with the latter parts and has now decided to continue the battle.

The two brewery companies are currently engaged in a world-wide battle for the rights to variuos Budweiser-related trademarks, with legal processes in a number of countries and varying success for the two companies.
