The Belgium-based brewing force, Interbrew, has posted on April 1st, 2003 an unambiguous repot about market speculation on Brau & Brunnen. “Following recent market speculation, Interbrew, The World's Local Brewer© , confirms that it has no interest in acquiring Brau & Brunnen. The various assets of that company would not fit with Interbrew's existing regional platform and brand portfolio (Haacke Beck®, Beck's®, Gilde®, Hasseröder® and Diebels®) in the German market,” the company said.
