For the second year, Coors Brewing Company will team up with one of the Northeast's largest Latino non-profit organizations, Hispanic Federation, to hold Cena en el Barrio, a charitable program that provides holiday food baskets to New York families in need, Coors announced on December 1.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to partake in the season of giving," said Lillian Rodriguez-Lopez, president of Hispanic Federation. "We thank Coors for their continued support, and we're grateful to have an opportunity again this year to provide some relief for our community over the holidays."

This year, Coors donated $50,000 to Hispanic Federation, who in partnership with several of its member agencies will use the donation to distribute food to 2,000 families in need at the Highbridge Recreation Center in Manhattan.

"We are proud to sponsor this program which brightens the holidays by putting a holiday meal on a table that might have otherwise have been less abundant," said Rafael Fantauzzi, Coors Brewing Company corporate relations manager. "Cena en el Barrio is our way of saying happy holidays to the community and being a good neighbor to New York families in need."

Coors Brewing Company and Manhattan Beer Distributors will provide company volunteers and bags for food distribution. They will join volunteers from Hispanic Federation on December 15, 2005, to sort and distribute food baskets containing holiday food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a day.

"We're pleased to work with Coors on a program that benefits our local community," said Ender Berrios of Manhattan Beer Distributors. "This program provides a direct and positive impact on our community. Everyone should have enough to eat, especially during the holiday season."

Coors also sponsors similar programs in Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver and Dallas. In each city, Coors collaborates with its distributors and local charitable organizations to feed hungry families during the holidays.
