E-Malt.com News article: USA: Uinta Brewing Company announced the creation of their new developmental division

Salt Lake City: Uinta Brewing Company has announced the creation of their new developmental division, Four + (Plus) Brewing. Four + will focus on resurrecting "old-world styles" of classic beers and modernizing them with an American twist. Their initial product rollout, Monkshine Belgian Pale Ale, is now available in area grocery stores, restaurants, taverns, and private clubs in Utah and Virginia.

The name Four + originated from the four major ingredients that Uinta incorporates in their brews: barley, hops, water, and yeast. Four + will continue Uinta’s commitment to 100% natural brewing; no spices, adjuncts and/or additives are used in their brewing process.

Monkshine Belgian Pale Ale is characteristic of ales produced with Belgian yeast strains:smoothly drinkable and having a session quality. It contains faint suggestions of spices, and one might notice a slight banana peel aroma on the nose and coriander and clove on the finish.

Uinta Brewing Company was established in 1993 and was the first distributing craft brewery in Salt Lake City. In 1996, Uinta began to bottle its award-winning beers and quickly grew to become the largest craft brewery in Utah. In 2004, Uinta produced over 15,000 barrels. Cutthroat Pale Ale, Uinta’s flagship brand, is the number one selling craft beer in the state.
